Working with Free Tier

Make the most of your free analysis with the 40-component limit

Free Tier Benefits

Every Schemalyzer account includes 1 free analysis per month with a 40-component limit. This is perfect for small projects, learning the platform, and testing your designs before upgrading.

No credit card required - Start analyzing immediately after signing up
1

What Counts as a Component?

The 40-component limit includes all physical parts in your schematic:

Counts (40 limit):

  • ICs (microcontrollers, sensors, etc.)
  • Resistors and capacitors
  • LEDs and diodes
  • Connectors and headers
  • Transistors and MOSFETs
  • Crystals and oscillators

Does NOT count:

  • Net labels (GND, VCC, etc.)
  • Text annotations
  • Rectangles and groupings
  • Wires and junctions
  • Power symbols
2

Check Your Component Count

Before uploading, you can check how many components are in your EasyEDA schematic:

In EasyEDA:

  1. 1. Open your schematic in EasyEDA
  2. 2. Look at the component list or library panel
  3. 3. Count all unique component references (R1, R2, C1, U1, etc.)

Tip: If you're close to 40, consider splitting your schematic into functional blocks and analyzing them separately (e.g., power supply, main circuit, peripherals).

3

What Happens if You Exceed 40 Components?

If you try to upload a schematic with more than 40 components on the free tier:

You'll see an error message: "Your schematic has [X] components, which exceeds the free tier limit of 40 components."

The upload will not proceed, and no analysis credits will be used.

Your Options:

  • Upgrade to a paid plan - Get higher component limits and more analyses per month
  • Split your schematic - Divide into smaller functional blocks
  • Simplify your design - Analyze a subset of your circuit

Making the Most of Your Free Analysis

With only 1 free analysis per month, make it count:

Smart Strategies:

  • Use it for final review: Do your own review first, then use the AI analysis to catch what you missed before ordering PCBs
  • Focus on critical sections: Analyze the most complex or risky parts of your design (power supply, high-speed signals)
  • Export everything: Save PDF and Excel exports so you can reference them later even if you've used your monthly credit
  • Learn from the AI: Study the recommendations to improve your design skills for future projects
5

When Does the Free Analysis Reset?

Your free analysis credit resets on the same day each month when you signed up.

Example: If you signed up on January 15th, you'll get a new free analysis on February 15th, March 15th, etc.

You can check your next reset date in your account dashboard.

Important: Unused free analyses do not roll over to the next month. Use it or lose it!

When to Consider Upgrading

The free tier is great for learning and occasional use. Consider upgrading if:

  • You need to analyze schematics with more than 40 components
  • You want to analyze multiple designs per month
  • You're working on professional or client projects
  • You need faster analysis processing times
  • You want priority support

Pro Tips for Free Tier Users

  • Set a monthly reminder to use your free analysis before it resets
  • Keep a library of your exported PDFs to reference past analyses
  • Use Excel exports to create your own issue tracking system
  • If you have multiple small designs, batch them into one 40-component schematic
