Exporting Analysis Results
Save and share your schematic analysis with PDF and Excel exports
Why Export?
Exporting your analysis results allows you to share findings with your team, include them in documentation, or keep offline records of your design reviews. Schemalyzer provides two export formats to fit different use cases.
Locate the Export Buttons
After opening your analysis, look at the left sidebar. At the top, you'll find the export section with two buttons:
Tip: The export buttons are always visible in the sidebar, even when you're viewing detailed analysis for a specific component group.
Export as PDF
The PDF export creates a professionally formatted document perfect for:
- Sharing with team members via email or messaging
- Including in design documentation or project reports
- Presenting to clients or stakeholders
- Archiving for future reference
What's Included in the PDF:
- • Overview table with all critical issues, warnings, and scores
- • Detailed analysis for each component group
- • Component lists and connections
- • AI recommendations and improvement suggestions
- • Formatted for easy reading and printing
Note: PDF generation may take a few seconds for large analyses. The file will automatically download when ready.
Export as Excel
The Excel export provides structured data in spreadsheet format, ideal for:
- Further analysis and filtering
- Creating custom reports and visualizations
- Integration with project management tools
- Tracking issues and resolutions over time
Excel File Structure:
- • Overview Sheet - Summary table with scores
- • Critical Issues - All critical findings
- • Warnings - All warnings identified
- • Improvements - AI suggestions
- • Components - Full component list with details
Pro Tip: Use Excel's filter and sorting features to focus on specific issue types or component groups. You can also create pivot tables for custom analysis.
Choosing the Right Format
Choose PDF when:
- ✓ Sharing with non-technical team members
- ✓ Creating permanent documentation
- ✓ Presenting to clients or management
- ✓ You want a ready-to-print format
- ✓ Emailing the results
Choose Excel when:
- ✓ You need to filter or sort data
- ✓ Tracking issues across multiple designs
- ✓ Creating custom reports or charts
- ✓ Integrating with other tools
- ✓ Analyzing trends over time
Understanding File Names
Exported files are automatically named using this format:
Example: BatteryCharger_v2_MainBoard_2025-11-18.pdf
This naming convention makes it easy to organize and find your analysis exports, especially when working with multiple revisions of a design.
Best Practices
- Export a PDF before making design changes so you have a record of the original analysis
- Use Excel exports to create issue tracking spreadsheets shared with your team
- Keep exports organized in version-controlled folders (e.g., "rev_A", "rev_B")
- Include PDFs in design review meetings or Slack/Teams channels for discussion
